5 awesome and healthy New Year’s resolution ideas you can try

It’s nearly time to say goodbye to 2016. It’s been an awesome year for us at t plus, we’ve announced nationwide listings along with a bunch of new awesome independents, we’ve spread the green tea love even more across the country and met so many lovely t plus lovers and our t plus team has doubled in size. If like us, you’re feeling pretty reflective as the New Year approaches, you might want to take a look at these 5 super motivational and healthy New Year’s resolution ideas that you can try for 2017 ( 2 of us are already onboard with these and promising to make them stick in 2017 ). The best resolutions are always the ones that make YOU happier.

1. Learn 1 new healthy recipe per week

It’s really easy to get into a routine of buying the same ingredients and cooking the same meals week in week out which can often get boring and unexciting. Why not spice things up a little and learn 1 new healthy recipe each week. There’s so many resources around these days online, on social media as well as endless recipe books and TV programmes that we can get inspiration from.  So why not take an hour or 2 out of your week to learn and make a recipe that excites you. This is also a great excuse to invite friends and family around for regular dinner parties to show off your new skills.

2. Make a list of short-term goals each month

This doesn’t have to be too strenuous; it could be a means of waking up 15 minutes earlier each day to take a brisk morning walk or to run that extra 15 minutes on the treadmill. If you make a clear list at the beginning of each month it will allow you to motivate yourself and push yourself even more to achieve each goal. This is also a great way to look back on everything that you’ve achieved throughout the year come 2018 so you can give yourself a huge pat on the back.

3. Sign up for a fitness class at your local gym or running club

Exercising with likeminded people is a great way to encourage you to push yourself that little bit more. Whatever stage of fitness you’re at there’s always someone else in the same boat. It may be a bit daunting to join a new club/gym at first but there’s no doubt you’ll see the changes in no time.

4. Drink more water

Keeping hydrated is essential at any time of the year and it’s recommended that we drink around 8 glasses of water each day. Its so important to keeping our body in optimum balance. Water helps your body balance bodily fluids, can help control calories and keeps your skin looking good.If you’re on that New Year health kick and working out more than usual, make sure you always have a bottle of water in close reach. On the other hand, why not drink our vitamin enriched green teas as a perfect pre and post workout pick me up? Warm drinks count as fluids too!

5. Prep your lunch in advance

Prepping your lunch in advance saves so much time and money. You could either make your whole weeks’ worth of food in one go, or make double portions in the evening throughout the week and take one to work the next day, or simply bulk buy your packed lunch for the upcoming week. By doing this, it’s one less thing to stress about and you’re more than likely to be eating healthy and nutritious meals instead of an overpriced and deceivingly unhealthy meal deal from the local shop.

So there’s just 5 super easy and healthy New Year’s resolutions you can try to make 2017 the best yet. Our t plus mission is to help everyone live and drink a little easier and hopefully with this little inspiration – you can do just that. If you have an inspiring New Years resolution that you are set on, share it with us and we will be posting the best and most inspirational few in Januarys newsletter to help spread the New Years motivation!

Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year everyone!!

Love, team t plus x
